Air Max 90

With this Air Max 90, Nike’s inspirations take another turn into the absurd. Although the brand has nothing new about cooking influences, they have seldom brought them to such a visual extreme. The silhouette celebrates the classic convenience store onigiri, using both the upper and the insole and branding, with rice grains and distinct wrappings that influence many of the details.

In the beginning, the whole exterior appears to be very lightly covered in white, representing the rice ball itself. The mudguard whose sublimated printing further places the plastic effect in the foreground shows this further. Marked in a black seaweed, most of the attachments are adjacent while the Swoosh branding of the sole and tongue contrasts with the aqua blue. Red touches also squeeze their way into them and emphasize on the side and the heel the symbols “AIR MAX” and “Nike Air.” Moreover, if the references were not sufficiently evident, the insole is covered in the complete close-up picture of rice and the laces «Pull» just like the product.

See below for an in-depth view. In the coming months, Stock should presumably hit the shelves at Nike.com.
