Jimmy Sweatpants – or JSP as the brand is widely called – was created in 2013, and comes from the mind of Jimmy Gorecki himself, a skateboarder who made his name under the flags of Aesthetics, Zoo York, and Ice Cream. Today, the streetwear imprint is standing alongside Vault By Vans to pay tribute to Love Park, one of Philadelphia’s most emblematic landmarks.

Gorecki has chosen his favorite Vans silhouette, the Chukka Boot for this partnership. Prepared in two colorways, each has a preference for luxury items, such as own clothing pieces from the skater-turned designer. Thick suede covers with a red and white checkerboard patterned sole from head to toe complemented underneath by a small creative aid from local performer Joe Lees. A further embellishment. The markings are set at the top of all centers of the sole in remembrance of what Love Park was once, naming “JSP,” “215,” and “LOVE.” Moreover, the packaging immortalizes JR Neves, a friend of Gorecki’s childhood who died sadly in 2009.

Take a closer look at the white and black colorways below, which are expected to reach select retailers on February 10th if you want to choose a set.
